Finland: Action Plan for Combating Violence against Women

In January 2020, the Ministry of Justice Finland appointed an intersectoral working group to prepare an Action Plan for Combating Violence against Women.

The cross-cutting theme of the Action Plan is the prevention of violence. Of specific forms of violence, the Action Plan covers honour-related violence and digital violence. In addition, emphasis is placed on the work to be carried out with perpetrators of violence and on the competence development of authorities responsible for criminal investigation, criminal procedure and criminal sanctions.

The implementation period of the Action Plan extends from autumn 2020 until spring 2023.
