Carbon Connect International guides our clients to decarbonize their operations and aim for zero emissions.

What We Do

Our team is fervently committed to assisting governments and private sector enterprises to curb climate change. We do this by:

  • Building technical capacity

  • Developing pathways to achieve near-zero emissions

Where We Operate

Carbon Connect’s programs have focused on supporting the Government of Alberta to implement methane reduction incentive programs. Our Alberta programs have contributed significantly to achieving Alberta’s methane reduction target and have demonstrated leadership in methane emissions mitigation and measurement solutions.

We harness our success in Canada through a global network and geographic partnerships including Aiming for Zero. We also work to the global standards of OGMP 2.0. In addition to working with global organizations, our training courses have been delivered in over 10 countries over the last 3 years.

We believe that reducing methane emissions from hydrocarbon production is the most effective approach to ensuring energy security while taking the urgent actions required to combat climate change.

Program Results

Carbon Connect’s Canadian programs inventoried roughly 15,000 oil and gas facilities in Alberta, and resulted in the reduction of 16.6 MtCO2e over the lifetime of the clean technology implementation projects.

In annual terms, this was roughly 890ktCO2e, which is equivalent to removing
198,000 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles.

Our Canadian programs, funded by emissions levies collected through Alberta’s TIER program, drove early action towards Alberta’s emissions reduction targets and promoted job growth and capacity building for 21 service providers. Our programs contributed to critically important emissions reductions and economic development needs for Albertan’s between December 2020 and September 2022.

Program Information

The Methane Technology Implementation Program (MTIP)
targets the deployment and use of commercially available technologies that emphasize reductions in
methane emissions in the discovery, recovery, and
processing of Alberta’s energy resources.

The Baseline Reduction Opportunity Assessment Program (BROA) will provide the information and data to support
project evaluation and enable participation in available provincial and federal initiatives to incent methane emissions reduction projects.
